Goal 6: Complete library metadata optimization (MOP) and synchronization project (OCLC DataSync) (Aleph)

Benefit: Ease the migration to a next generation of library services platform and enhance resource sharing

Wiki Dashboard: Metadata Optimization Project

Milestones:

October 2016: Draft OCLC Synchronization Recommendation; release Optimization Dashboard; compile punchlist of potential corrections. 

September 2017: Prepare to synchronize Harvard's holdings with OCLC's WorldCat database. Prioritize record problems and process corrections. Resubmit Harvard records to OCLC to conduct synch process. --roll into next year waiting on OCLC

May 2018: Prepare for Alma data migration. Maximize quality and quantity of data migrated from Aleph ( plus SFX & Verde) to Alma. Analyze and prioritize categories of record errors.  Establish and execute workflows to perform record corrections before Alma data migration. 

July 2018: Prepare for Local metadata corrections and improvements. Improve the discovery experience for users and collaboration with other institutions. Complete correction of prioritized enhancements related to lending, duplication, and retention bytes as well as obsolete fields.
