Social Media Policy
We welcome the use of social media to share your experience while attending our programs. However, the classes you will be attending are the result of years of faculty research and experience. In order to respect the intellectual property of the university and our faculty and so that all attendees maximize their learning experience, we ask that the following guidelines be followed:
- The material you are given as part of the program is for your personal use only. Please do not post or distribute either in hard copy or electronically without permission from the appropriate faculty. If permission is granted, all material must be posted with correct attributions.
- Please refrain from taking photos, audio recordings, or videos of faculty, building halls, classrooms, fellow program participants or any other Harvard student, staff person, or visitor without permission.
- Please do not take photos or videos while class is in session.
- All unauthorized audio or video recordings of class sessions are not permitted.
The Harvard Chan School is located on the Green Line of Boston's subway system, the MBTA (known simply as the "T"). To reach the School by subway, take the "E" branch of the Green Line toward Heath Street, and get off at the Brigham Circle stop. The fare is $2.65 in exact change. A paper CharlieTicket (available at any fare vending machine) will allow you to store value, so that you will not need to pay in cash each time you ride.
A Day/Week LinkPass may also be purchased at any fare vending machine and is good for unlimited travel on subway and Local Bus for one day or one week. Ask your hotel concierge or visit the MBTA website for more information on maps and fares.
For those departing directly from the School on the last day of the program, you are welcome to bring your luggage and leave it at the back of the classroom.
Subway and taxi service to the airport is available from the School. If calling a taxi, we recommend waiting for pick up at 651 Huntington Avenue (the large glass atrium at the FXB entrance). The approximate travel time to the airport is 30 minutes, but do allow for more time in rush hour or inclement weather. Please call for a taxi 10-15 minutes before you plan to leave. The telephone numbers for local taxis are listed below.

Completing the Program
Faculty and staff consider evaluation results and comments carefully. We depend on your feedback to continually revise and improve the curriculum of the program. Please complete the evaluation form daily. Evaluation forms will be collected on the last day of the program.
Certificates and Credits
Program participants will receive a certificate of attendance and credit letter on the final day of the program, in exchange for the completed program evaluation.
Facilities, Access, and Security
The Harvard Chan School is a non-smoking campus. Please refrain from smoking on school grounds, including courtyards and walkways.
You will receive an ID badge upon checking in at the start of your program. The ID badge will grant you access to the School during the program, as well as allow program staff and your fellow participants to identify you. Please wear it when entering the School and at all times while in the building. For safety reasons, please do not wear the badge outside the School complex.
The classroom is locked following the end of the afternoon session; it is, however, recommended that no personal belongings of value be left in the classroom overnight, as well as during breaks and lunch. Executive and Continuing Professional Education follows Harvard Chan School policy in regards to stolen property of faculty, staff, students, and guests: no compensation will be provided for loss of personal property.
Emergency Contact Information
While the program is in session, the Executive and Continuing Professional Education office can take messages for participants in the event that someone needs to contact you regarding an emergency. They can be reached at (617) 432-1109 during regular business hours.
Classroom Quick Guide
To ensure that your time here is comfortable and productive, we have put together a Quick Guide to help answer some basic questions.
The nearest restrooms are located just outside of the G-3 classroom, around the corner to the left.
To adjust your seat, up or down, please do the following: With your right hand, reach under your seat to locate the chair’s adjustment lever. Pull the lever up/down and the chair should automatically rise or lower due to the pneumatic height control mechanism. When your seat is adjusted to your comfort, release the lever.
In the event of an emergency, please exit the classroom through the rear doors and turn left. The Emergency Exits are the glass double doors at the end of the hall. Please proceed through the doors and across the courtyard to the far right corner. An alarm will sound when these doors are opened, so please only use them if there is an emergency.
Filtered Water Dispenser:
There is a filtered hot / cold water dispenser located outside of the classroom. When you exit the classroom, take a right and it is located against the wall on the right outside of the neighboring classroom. *You will need to bring a cup as it is a water dispenser, not a water fountain.
Continental breakfast, snacks, and lunch are provided at predetermined times throughout the duration of the program. Please refer to the program agenda for this schedule. If these designated times do not meet your needs, Sebastian’s cafeteria and vending machines are located one floor above you where you can purchase your own food and beverages. The cafeteria is open from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle:
The Harvard Chan School is reducing its carbon footprint! Separate bins have been designated for trash, recycling, and compost. Please help us and recycle all aluminum cans, glass, and plastic bottles. Additionally, all the items provided by Sebastian’s Catering (listed below) are compostable. If you have any questions about what can be recycled or composted, please ask the Program Staff.
- All food waste (including meat, dairy, grains, fruit, vegetables)
- Tea bags
- Sebastian's napkins
- All Sebastian’s cutlery
- All Sebastian’s plates and clamshells
- All Sebastian’s hot and cold cups & lids
- Wooden coffee stirrers
As a reminder, please turn off or silence all mobile devices while classes are in session.
Thank you! We hope you enjoy the program, and your stay in Boston.
