The Course Navigation Menu is a series of links on the left side of your course that help you and your students access different course areas. You can choose to reorder and hide course navigation links.

The naming of navigation items is consistent across all course sites and cannot be changed. This consistency is beneficial to students, as they do not need to become acquainted with site-specific navigation terminology.

A grayed-out navigation link indicates that it is unavailable to students; only course site administrators will see that link, which may be because:

  • it is meant for use by site administrators only
  • it is content you have chosen to hide from students
  • it links to areas that do not yet have any content

The Settings link, found in the left hand course navigation, is where you can see administrative details about your course, modify you site's visibility setting, hide and reorder items in the the course navigation, view and link apps, and see feature options.
