Life after iSites, or What To Do Before Your iSite is Gone
Harvard IT is getting a reboot, and our content on Harvard’s aging "isites" learning management system must migrate to new platforms. While Canvas is a great option for courses and course-like isites, others (and this includes most of library isites) don't map neatly to the Canvas model. Fortunately there are other options! A panel of speakers introduced some of these, discussed pros/cons, shared what some of our colleagues have already done, and how to get started.
- Kathleen Stuart gave a highlevel survey of HUIT recommended options (OpenScholar, Harvard SharePoint, Harvard Google Sites and Harvard Wikis) -- Kathy's slides.
- Brie Pendleton and Kenton Doyle from Harvard Web Publishing discussed OpenScholar -- OpenScholar documentation.
- Naomi Handler, who manages iSite migrations for HL, HCL, and LTS, offered assistance to Harvard Library staff who need to migrate content from iSites -- Naomi's slide.
- Luke Gaudreau will introduce us to LibGuides -- Luke's slides.
