Over the Counter (OTC) orders are typically patron-generated, though curatorial departments may also send non-project work through OTC. The majority of OTC orders will be deposited in the Digital Repository Service (DRS). The DRS is a preservation and access repository maintained by the Office for Information Systems. The Page Delivery Service (PDS) and the Image Delivery Service (IDS) are the systems used to serve digital images from the DRS. All digitized material intended for deposit will require metadata. After deposit in the DRS, links are added to either the HOLLIS record or to an item/series in a finding aid.
Instructions on locating the DRS id numbers for digital resources displayed through a variety of systems (PDS, IDS, VIA) and in variously formed links may be found here.
When an over the counter (OTC) order is created in Aeon, staff should indicate deposit instructions and metadata needs as documented on the PS wiki.
