Many OCLC records for recent works of fiction will have subject headings (primarily 650's) added for fictional characters, etc. Genre headings are also being supplied using a new thesaurus, the GSAFD (Guidelines for Subject Access for fiction, Drama, etc.). Most of these records are part of an LC pilot project. Do not delete these subject and genre headings on records brought into HOLLIS unless the heading is obsolete or inaccurate.
Likewise, many OCLC records will have FAST (Faceted Application of Subject Terminology) headings, which are derived from Library of Congress Subject Headings. Unless the FAST heading is manifestly inaccurate, do not delete.
Do not add subject or genre headings beyond those we would normally use.
